I need HELP. I fried my deck/screen!!
Oh man so this weekend sucked.
To make a long story, short...
I was on my way to Venice Beach and decided to plug in my friends digital camera to the Video2 of my in dash screen. i pulled over at McDs and plugged in the A/V cord - stupidly while my car was on.
everything was fine...but i could only hear sound coming from 1 side...so i switched the plug it was in and then the sound only came from the other side.
i decided i would rather have the sound on my side so i switched the cable back to where i originally had it - the speakers buzzed for about 1 or 2 seconds then my screen turned off and my deck powered down.
when the deck turned off it wasn't like power was just cut..it went to the "off screen" (or whatever its called) where it says JVC then goes back to the original angle (4 angle settings, goes back to 1, or normal when off) and then it shuts off
now, either the screen or the deck wont work - but what IS wierd is that when i hit eject on the deck the deck powers on and the face opens and ejects the cd...then when i take out a cd or put one in...it will close up again and not turn on.
the amps get power when i hit the eject button - but other than that they don't get any power. the screen doesnt turn on at all either.
i am getting a very small bit of noise from the speakers..like a maybe road noise or something..
anyways...what do i do?!??! (besides going after the warrenty...i bought from www.etronics.com and im not sure JVC will honor a warrenty...i will try if theres no other solution, though..)

u mean in the back of the deck? ....wait...are there fuses on the deck?...man i suck at this. lol
i checked the fuses going to the amps - didn't really know if that would have anything to do with it.
would plugging A/V cords blow a fuse though?? i mean..this was my logic. you can plug in..say a ps2/xbox, to the back of a TV while its on with RCA cords...so i figured it would be ok since it was the same type of cord..ya know?

if it werent getting power at all, it wouldnt eject. The amp fuses have nothing to do with the radio not working. Check the car fuses under the hood and under the dash and behind the radio if there is one. Maybe you grounded something out while plugging/unplugging the RCA's. Also, if you have a reset button, try resetting the unit.

Check the inline fuses behind the deck. There may be one on the yellow wire, and possibly on the red wire. Check to see if there is a fuse in the back of your deck as well. Pull the fuse panel inside and check the radio fuse there, and check your fuses under your hood.

Some decks have a fuse inline behind them in the deck's harness. Mine are fused on both the red and yellow wires on the deck I have. It's an older deck, but the prectice is still in place on some decks. Pull the deck adn look at the wiring harness. If there's a plastic cover on there, open it and check the tube fuse in there. It could be one of those that are blown. I've never even thought about a JVCrap deck, so I don't know their practices.
