popping/cracking noise from 6x9's

Hey whats up guys..

Im having a problem with my rockford 6x9s. the problem arose from me being dumb and installing the driver side speaker with the terminals (or whatever you call them) facing the back of the car. the problem with this is that whenever you close the trunk lid, there is a bar that is connected to the trunk lid and it comes down and squishes the connection wire to the speaker. now..my 6x9s come on and off at random times...and they crackle and pop when i hit bumps in the road.

i used to be able to pop the trunk - and the speakers would work because the wire would be let free - but i got tired of the sound so I had the speakers unplugged for a while - but then i got even more tired of having no rear fill at all. so i plugged them back in - this time wrapping the wire behind the magnet and out of the way of the crossbar that was hitting it.

if you look at the wire on the driver side its pretty much flat in the spot that the bar used to hit it.

even though the wire isn't being flattened anymore - they are still coming on and off at random times and crackling/popping.

what can i do to fix this?? do you think splicing a new piece of wire where the flat part is will fix it?? maybe inside the wire cover the actual copper isn't getting a good connection?? i have no idea. me please!

dont buy fosgate mids and highs. i worked for the car audio shop that makes rf more money than anybody and we wouldnt carry their highs and mids or decks.

yeah...i bought those a long time ago..kinda an impulse buy because i thought they'd give me more bass and i didn't have a sub at the time. i dunno, in my last car i got really good sound off my Pioneer 6x9s...so i figured they'd suffice my need for some bass...but they turned out sucky. lol.

first...got any suggestions to fix what i have now?
2nd...got any suggestions on what to put in the rear deck? (something not too pricey) 6.5s or 6x9s...

take out the torsion bar and put in shocks. You'll probably need to replace the section of wire that was rubbed flat.

would that 1 section of wire that is flat be the cause of both sides making the noise?? i guess i can splice in a new wire tomorrow and find out...

ok, i finally got around to splicing the damn wire together. it didn't work

now its not so much of a cracking/popping noise...its just that the 6x9's only work when they want to. it seems when i hit a bump in the road they turn off/on. the weird thing is i checked all the connections and nothing is loose... !!

check the actual connection terminal on the speaker and the tinsel leads leading from that into the spider/cone area

susuking is on a distinguished road
maybe you just blew up the speaker? or if the metal from the trunk lid is touching the terminal, it might cause it to go out temporarily because it shorted out, that might explain why it goes on and off

hrmm..everything looks fine....

new update though. when i start up the car the speakers will be off...then if i pop the trunk and get out and open it up all the way they will turn on - and (so far) stay on. ive only driven short drives since ive found out opening the trunk will turn them on - so im not sure if they'll go out again while driving but thus far they haven't.

this is frustrating me!!! i think im just gunna take it to a shop in a nearby town and have them reinstall the 6x9s and run all the wires again...as it is..the wires are a mess ( & i get a lot of road noise)

when wiring ur deck / door speakers be sure not to kink the wires b/cuz that will fry the wires and use the proper thingys (mind went blank) to connect the wire to the speaker itself to get better sound.

And maybe its my luck but when I had the Vic I was running RF's in the deck, doors kicks, subs and highs/mids in the trunk but honestly the speakers are good quality but their new amp products suck.

And they need the right power to run em so just get a amp for em and u'll be VERY amazed!!!!!

Trust Me just look at my profile but now i only run Phoenix Gold amps. Rep to Megahurtz

jump in the trunk and watch the speakers while opening the lid to see if you can see anything weird happening when the speakers come on
