**Urgent!!** HU ground, where???
**Urgent!!** HU ground, where???
Hey guys well I finally got my Alpine 9855 and im about to put it in, every deck ive installed i've connected the decks ground wire to the harness instead of using a separate ground but the Alpine deck has a clamp and the end of the ground wire to use a separate ground.
So im wondering, do I cut that clamp off and continue to use the factory ground through the harness or use a new ground? (where???)
Thanks!! I will rep all answers!!
I cant wait to get this thing in!!!

it's up to you, you can cut it off and use the harness ground. I always connect the ground seperatly and run a new constant power from the battery. In are cars, there is a bolt right under where the HU is with a small black wire, I connected it there.

ugh are you serious...well mine sounds good already but i have an amp. i guess it won't help me tho cause i only have tweeters hooked to deck power. i might still do it if i got free time. but ya i just cut mine and hooked to harness.

just cut off that clamp, I've done it with every deck I've installed. Connect it to the ground wire on the wiring harness. I've never had a problem with any of the decks that I've installed.
