my back stock speakers blew out!!!

last night after my class, i was driving back home, and whenever i hear any songs with a good bass in it, i'll hear my back speakers ripping...or that's what it sounds like...if i lower my volume to about 14 (out of who knows, never went up that high) it'll be ok, but if i crank up to 16-20, i can hear the back speakers' bass not doing so good...
what kind of aftermarket speakers have you guys gotten and how much is the price range??

agreed, if you have a coupe alpine type S 6x9's are the best..mine have been going strong for almost 3 years now. if you have a sedan, infinity reference 6.5" are perfect, i put those in my gf's car, even without an amp they sound great.

no either 6.5" round if you have a sedan [in the rear] or a 6"x9" oval looking speaker if you have a coupe, both have 5 1/4" - 6.5" in the front doors

decent. but speakers always sound better amped....

If ur not HUGE on audio just go with the Infinities or the Type S's. Other stuff costs too much and wont really sound different w/o a good amp.

This coming from a guy who spent $450 on just the front speakers.
But they do sound good as hell!

they sound okay, but having them amped will really make the midbass pound hard. On some songs its enough to shake the mirrors. And thats just from 6.5 inch speakers.

Just don't buy new ones, unplug them and get new front ones and amplify those, the rear speakers mess up your front stage. Thats what i would do if you are looking for sound quality. But if you just wanna drive around and listen then i would say just go to crutchfield.com buy something that has good reviews, like Alpine, Kicker, Infinity. No off brand stuff.
