Can you guys check to see if the inside of your power outlet look the same as mine? I suspect that black thing is a foreign object in the socket. Otherwise, I have probably damaged some wires in the back

Well a while ago, I plugged in this LED light that power off the outlet on top of the cupholder. Well as I pull out the light, the piece at the end of the plug broke off and got stuck inside the hole. It took me a while to take that **** out. I had to use a soldering gun to melt that piece and i finally got it out today. But now the outlet doesnt work anymore! So yeah I am thinking the soldering gun probably damaged some wires behind it.

maybe the soldering iron heated up the metal and the solder in the back of the outlet and the wire for the outlet detatched.

did you try taking the outlet apart and I dunno, actually try to remove the piece?

Alright I checked the cigarette lighter fuse and found that it was blown, I have to go out and buy a fuse tmrw. Thanks for the replies guys!

when you were in there with the soldering gun, you probably shorted the terminals together and popped the fuse. Should be fine once you put a new fuse in

yeah check the fuse. then check the wires behind it. if not the fuse a wire could have broken off from the iron.

or the wires could have simply came off the back. THey don't hold on to tight... I hate that.

well there is a plug holding the wires to the terminals. It shouldn't just come off.

u prolly sent too many amps back into the wires with the soldering iron so it blew a fuse instead of letting the magic smoke out of the wires...if u let the magic smoke out of the wires u would definitly know for sure because is stinks like ****

current doesnt come out of a soldering iron
