Sloted or Bandpass

Alpine R. Which kind of box would be better. Bandpass or sloted.

what a bad question.

How about some more info. What r u going 4? SQ or SPL. SPL should b the ported/slotted. and the SQ should b sealed. It should say the recommended box on the instructions for the Type R

From my experience stay away from bandpass boxes. they only hit hard at a certain frequency, and for all other frequencies, they dont produce a good a sound as a ported or sealed box would.

personally i love my band-pass box. ashton was right about it hitting harder at certain frequincys. But if youre not going for HUGE sound, and just want a lil more bass than stock has, I'd go with a bandpass..just imo though.

No don't do a sealed box with type Rs... Go vented...not bandpass or ported... Vented gives u best of both world SQ and SPL... What type of Amp are you going to power them with ?

Man find yourself a GOOD Audio shop and have them let you test them out or build you a custom one. Thats what im doing. I got 2 10" type R with a JBL power amp pushing them in a crappy sealed box.. So i wouldnt recomend Sealed.. Unless you got enough QB FT of air space in it. Im trying to think of the kind of box that is sloted/ported, but it slows down the sound waves so you dont get distortion and deeper bass.. THats the one you want.
