To Bandpass or Not To Bandpass???
To Bandpass or Not To Bandpass???
Hey guys I have done a search and came up empty handed. I have 2 12" MTX 4000 subs and i currently have a huge bandpass box that takes up all my trunk space. Now i have heard conflicting stories about as if i should get a bandpass box or just an enclosed box. please somebody shed some light on this subject as to what exactly the sound quality will be. Please ASAP trunk room needed badly

check out the DIY CUSTOM TRUNK i put up, your subs will sound fine. you might want to port it though, and mohawk is right about the distortion. but if you want trunk space, and a show look check out my thread at the top of the ICE section.

Well..the size of the box doesn't really mean squat..it's the enclosures tuning.. But for those subs.. just buy a generic small bandpass box for 2 10's.. or sell the subs and buy 1 decent 12 and it'll outpound and sound better than the 2 4000's
