Soldering help [not a typical application]
Hey, people. I was stringing a guitar when I screwed up [I'm a n00b] and managed to wear away the end of one string enough so that it snapped. Anyways, the string is perfect, still, I just don't have enough of that extension at the end to wrap around the tuning peg.
My question is, if I solder another extension to the end of this string, will the soldered pieces hold together under extremely high tension? Also, will the chemical properties cause any problems?
The strings are very very thin, and are made of phosphate. Thanks for the help.

The solder won't hold the string together under the tension required to keep it at pitch. Your best bet is a new string, many music stores sell individual strings.

It wouldn't sound different because the broken part was just the very end, which is thinner than the actual string, anyways.
These are brand new strings, and I didn't really have the time to get another single one of the same kinda, but I guess I have no choice now.
Thanks.
