Rate My Idea
I live in a good neighborhood so i only need an alarm when im out at work or chillen, and i dont want to turn down my sensitivity everytime i go home because all the animals and **** set off my alarm and my parents get pissed cause they want to sleep, so i was thinkin if you could splice the siren power wire and route it to a on/off switch on your dash, so when im at work i can just leave it on and when i go home i can turn the siren off but yet still have be alerted by the transponder...its more for giving my parents and neighbors silence..wht u guys think...or anyone got any better ideas

that could work. just splice a switch in the power line of the siren. that way only the siren will die but the alarm still technicly still works. in all theory this should work.

Yeah thats a great idea! then when i come steal your car, i can get a clean get away when i see a swich and flick it to turn off the siren!! woo hoo!
good idea, i like it. would be even better if you had a transponder remote so you would know when it was going off. otherwise criminals have all the time in the world to get your radio without anyone knowing.

just because you live in a good neighborhood doesnt mean they wont jack your stuff. If you got a system in your car, you are not safe anywhere. Allways have a good alarm

There is no "Silent" feature on your alarm? I had a cheap brand two way on my old car and it had a mode that when you push two buttons the siren is disabled and only the transponder alerts you! Check into it!!
Don't do it. For all the reasons listed about thieves. They like to "shop" in nice neighborhoods. I can't believe your parents can't appreciate you protecting your money and investments. If they won't allow you (or have have problems with your alarm) maybe you should rethink putting too much money into your car.
