Coilovers or springs: need everyones opinions!!!!
Ok, the forum has been down and i have been dying to ask this question: Coilovers or springs!?
1. which one does/n't necessitate the use of aftermarket struts?(even though it is a good idea to get them cause the stock rate is too soft)
2. what is the ride quality and handling for each one?
3. should i just wait and buy a full coilover suspension?
4. camber kit is a must, correct?

Coilovers will allow you to adjust your ride height, depending on what you want...with springs, you only get what they say. BOth will probably blow your struts...coilovers give a kinda harsh ride i think, but i would go for the coilovers if you want a drop of 2" or more. Just my opinion

Theres a lota ppl on here with eibach springs (prokit and sport line) without blown struts...
I think the blown struts are mostly from the worse names and garbage like MatriX coilovers
Im personally going with EIbach Sportlines as soon as April gets here n thers a lil warmer weather... ground controls were my initial choice but i decided on a height... so i dont need coilovers

obviously, not everyone here is as educated as I am, so I'll share....
Coilovers aren't made so that you can have an adjustable ride height - that's only an added bonus. Coilovers are made so that the springs can be adjusted and equalize weight distribution to the tires to aid in handling. If you want to go for looks only, then go springs. If you want performance, then I would say coilovers.

I second 2k2civic. Well Thats the good thing with coil over. Because if you have a spring and sometimes weight are not distribute equally. For example the left hand side springs both rear and front are lower than the right hand spring. Answer: Driver side is most commonly seated that way all the weight are distributed on the left hand side of you car than the right. Overtime your spring on your left side get softer than the right side of your car. Another example Rear right spring is lower than all three springs. Answer: Passenger on the back usually sit on your right hand side of your car. Plus the weight of your muffler which is located on your right hand side added weight to the spring.

If you want a quality coilover, get a coilover with the threads on the shock itself. the sleaves will just give you problems down the road. IMO, that's what I would do. That's why I didnt buy GC's to begin with. Even though the "REAL" coilovers cost some $$, I think its worth it. That way you get new shocks & the coilover all in one. my $.02.

I agree. Get good quality the first time around. I learned the hard way.
