Just bought amp for all 4 speakers...
In a previous thread I started about amp/sub/speaker relations, I got lots of answers that talked about bridging two channels of a 4-channel amp and using the other two to power the fronts, then leaving the rears alone. I'm having a JL 300/4 put in soon, and running it to all 4 speakers, no sub as of yet. If I do sub, it's going to most likely be a 12W3 powered from its own 250/1. Does anyone have a separate amp setup like this, and if so your thoughts/opinions, etc? I wasn't real sold on it at the start of the discussion, but because I like clean and clear and not offensively loud sound I decided to just amp all 4 speakers and leave the option open of the separate sub.
I would say most of the people posting in this forum have a 2/4 channel for the speakers.
My suggestion would be to leave the rears powered form the head unit, and give all that power to your fronts, especially if you have comps. I wouldn't bridge the fronts but bi-amp the fronts, or even run an electronic crossover with that amp.

I just bought a Kenwood KAC-8401 4-channel amp for my speakers. Its got I think 60w RMS x 4, so that should be ample for my Alpine S-series speakers. Also got 2 JL 12w0s in the rear running from a Sony 400w RMS mono amp.
