Rep Power: 0 7" Component Midwoofers in Doors? Vifa Pl18
I've got a set of very nice components that I would like to put in the front doors of my 01 EX coupe. The woofers are Vifa Pl-18's, and are a 7" woofer, and I'm wondering what the chances are of fitting them without hitting the window or the door panel. The speaker dimensions are as follows:
Dimensions: Overall Diameter: 7-1/4", Cutout Diameter: 5-3/4", Mounting Depth: 3".
I plan on making an adapter plate out of MDF, but I need to know how much room I have inbetween the metal and the inner door panel, and how much space I have behind the metal without hitting the window. Thanks!

Rep Power: 286 Bad news for both of you.
1. you are going to have a hard time with a 3" speaker that size
2. You are not going to fit a 7" speaker into a Q-form. Some 6" speakers won't fit - they were designed for 5 1/4s and can accomadate some slightly larger woofers.
You can try a 1" MDF spacer, but I believe you'll have to cut the plastic on the back of the door trim panel.
