Sweet Head unit?
Whats up fellas
So I was browsing a audio shop the other day and a salesman showed me a new head unit they have. Im pretty sure it was a Kenwood but Im not positve. Anyway, the reason Im bringing it up was because it had some neat features.
He showed me a stop watch feature that starts and stops when the car starts and stops....like maybe for a time trial?
it has a feature to show g forces on the car when you turn sharp or accelerate quickly.
i think it shows 60 ft etc. times or something like that too
Its pretty much like one of those things you can buy at curcuit city and they plug into the cig lighter and tell you that sort of information.
I'd never buy the thing but i thought it was interesting that the put those features in a cd player...kinda lets you know who they're marketing that one to.

yeah i think i can do that sometime this week. i already looked for it at kenwoodusa.com but i wasn't sure which it was..and im at work so i don't have time to read in detail about it. i'll get back to you with that model number though.
lemme tell you though...it doesn't look very pretty. its all black and the display is analog. i dunno though..right now i have a TFT display on my HU and nothing really compares to it. i've been looking at a new deck and i can't decide on one because nothing looks as good as the one i have....although mine is lacking some serious performance features i'd really like to have. I almost bought a top of the line Alpine the other day...which i know is better than the Sony i have....but i just can't get used to the downgrade of display i'd be going though.

I have it in my KDC-X889.
It's pretty neat, but is a PITA with only one person in the car. I have a pic at home I'll post later. Here is one showing the color display:

yeah thats the one i saw...how do you like it??
edit: first..im not knockin your cd player at all..just comparing displays
i can't justify going to that kind of display ^ analog or whatever from this

i know my sony doesn't have the greatest features or put out the most power but it looks a ton better than some of the head units out now...i really really really am trying to get myself to like the look of the Alpine..cuz i know i will like the set up and sound of it..but just look how the display is on my deck...
