Rep Power: 0 cutting sheet metal
I have components that require a bigger speaker hole in the front door. What tools did you use to cut the slits in the metal? I know most people here said they use a dremel, but I don't want to buy a dremel since I probably won't have much use for it after this. Do they rent dremels? Or what are other tools I can use? Is there a bit for a drill that is good for cutting sheet metal?

You probably aren't thinking of all the uses. But I don't know anyone who wouldn't benefit from owning one. Check online for some of the uses - they aren't just for modifying cars. Hell, they're starting to use dremels at the place where my chick gets her nails done. You should be able to find a basic dremel for $40-50 maybe cheaper.
Also, if you are deadset against getting a dremel and have no other options, if you are careful, you could get away with drilling a bunch of holes in line real close together and bending the metal with pliers. Although this IS kinda hack . . .

Rep Power: 0 What model dremel do you recommend and what bit do you use to cut the sheet metal?
I found this dremel model for only $45 CAD, but I'm not sure if its powerful enought to cut through the metal, it max speed is only 13,000 RPM:

Dremel
MiniMITE 4.8V Cordless Rotary
A cordless rotary tool 4.8 V, with two speeds 6500/13,000 RPM. Uses 4 AA Batteries .Comes with 5 accessories for cutting, sanding, grinding, polishing.

Rep Power: 321 the dremel that i bought has to be the most useful all-around tool that i own. I just looked at all the dremels, and bought the best one that i could afford.
Here is a pic of the 6.75" speaker i put in the door...

Rep Power: 0 I'm sure its a very useful tool, but I still think I won't use it much after I cut this metal. Thats why i was wondering what other people used to get a nice cut in the metal. Everyone didn't use a dremel. I'd be willing to buy that dremel for $45 bux. Anyone else have that model? I'm not sure if its powerful enough to cut through metal.

Rep Power: 322 THere's also the Black and Decker wizard, it's kind of a dremel knockoff. I don't use it much, but it works great.
I wouldn't recommend a cordless tool, they're just never powerful enough.
You could also look up a cheap metal nibbler, i honestly don't know how much they run, but it might be less expensive.
