New Setup (Feedback Needed)

Getting sick of paper crap stock speakers and it's time to upgrade them.

Here's what i have chosen so far, and wanted to get some feedbacks from audio experts.

Front
CDT Audio CL-61A 6-1/2" Component System, Silk tweeters.
with 1" speaker spacer.

Rear
Havn't decided yet, although not even sure if it's worth upgrading rear speakers.

Front speakers are more important so, i am not looking to spend more than $75-100 on rear speakers.
Coxial is fine, components are overdone on rear imo.

Amp
4 channel for all speakers.
Came down to

Hifonics ZX6400
85x4 @ 4ohm - 700 watts RMS total

or

Phoenix Gold Octane-R R8.0:4
75 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms 800 watts total

PG is bit cheaper than Hifonics, and how does Octane series compare to xenon or TI series?

Wiring.
Phoenix Gold TSX4402 4 Gauge
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW

Looking for feedbacks on this setup.
Shoot me unbiased opinions :mgriggn:

Previous setup
Infinity Kappa 2 10's for bass :mfrown:
with Heavy Q logic box.

Time to move on to better sounding speakers now.

i disagree on the rear speakers, if it was me I would say dump the money into the best set of fronts you can afford

are you running a sub and sub amp also?

with regards to the PG Octane-R they are decent entry level amps but do not by any means stack up to the Xenon or Ti. I do not know the Hifonics but I am very loyal to PG so I say go with them

Only thing is, he'll probably have to go from spending $150 to around the $500 mark to do better than the CL-61As.

CivicVtec1ps - What I wan't to know is, what are you doing for a head unit?

Already have Pioneer Premier deh 840mp.

I don't want to spend more than $150 on front components.

I was asking because there is nothing wrong with running your rear fill speakers off your deck and using an amp ont he fronts. If you haven't already heard the CL-61s you are in for a treat.

Eh maybe $75-100 at the most. if i decided to get them.

Right now, I may just leave stock speakers and run 2 channel for fronts.
Im looking at eD nine.2

see if you can low pass the rear speakers and just run the stockers off the deck, then buy a sub/amp later on when you got some flow

Went to local audio shops and heard Polk momo MMC6500, holyshit.
Speakers sounded sooo good.

Speakers do cost more than $150 though, around $200 on ebay..
and $299 at crutchfield.
Hmm.

Just going to run 2 channel amp for front components and run rear filler with headunit.
No sub for me.

I think i am set for.
Polk MMC6500, Polk c300.2 , eu 600, knukonceptz wiring kit.
Eh, who knows, I can't make up my mind.
