my friend found a guy that is sellin his indash mon. but the only problem is that the brain is gone.he told me that the guy said that it was in a wreck and the brain was damaged.he said he would send the monitor and the pieces of the brain to prove that the hu isnt stolen.im buyin the monitor off him for 50 bucks plus sh cuz he thinks he can no longer get a brain. where can i get a brain for it if i can? will another brain fit it like the same model number?ill get the model number when i get the screen.

Get the model number before you buy it from him.

If it's a recent model then you night have some luck on eBay.

If it's an older model then you might be stuck with purchasing a new one directly from Alpine, which may end up costing the same as a new one.

The model number is stamped everywhere on it. Shouldn't be hard to get.

AFAIK you can switch the brains between some alpine decks, but that doesn't mean they are avaiable on the market

i have the d300 and i would not sell just the unit for 50 bucks w/o the brain, and the d900 is more expensive...

Well your not gonna have any luck getting any brain from alpine! Unless you have a recipt showing you purchased it from an authorized dealer plus a Police report, you aint gonna get one. And that doesnt always work. Alpine wont sell just the brain or just the monitor due to theft!

no thats a typo i bought it for 350 thinkin i could piece it together with a new brain and all. it was bought from rosemend ca. as far as i know its not stolen. is there any way to see if it is stolen cuz i dont want any hot **** in my car.i have an ebay print out of the purchase will that help me any.i called the seller today and he said it wasnt stolen and that he had personally bought it.its a d300 and will arrive on tuesday.should i just send it back?
