OBDII to laptop wiring
I saw a member on here wire a connction from the OBDII port to a laptop. I beleive it was home made and not bought but I could be wrong. OBDII to serial wires are like 100 bucks and I dont want to spend that much on somthing I can wire myself. Does anyone know this person or a link on how to get it done ? I have fairly good electronics skills just dont have the info on what to connect. thanks guys

i got this guys info. he we pm'd a buncha times
its not a cable. its a circuit. u need to buy the OBD2 cable and run that to the circuit you build. then serial off that to your lap top. not simple
your looking at aroun 60-70 bucks for part si think it was. i'll check my inbox.

ok thanks. i think its just better off then to buy it already made. theres a sight that has free software and sells the cable as well. it shows sensors engine speed tach etc and let you diagnose engine codes. the file is like only 2 megs
