Any auto paint store can mix it up.

Thanks for looking that up! I'll give them a call tomorrow. How much do you think I need, because they mix it there, right? I wouldn't expect them to have gallon containers laying around...haha

Dude, a pint of paint goes a long way. BTW, if you are going to spray it yourself, ask the paint shop about the special spray bottles they have. Takes like a cartridge on a glass bottle and sprays kind like a paint gun. Real cool ****.

Yea, I didn't want it to be pre mixed in all gallon cans. I was thinking that would be a hell of a lot, way to much for what I'm going to be doing.

Hmmm, I didn't think of taking it to have it sprayed, if I'm gonna be doing the whole, thing, might be easier to have them do it. Now that I think about it, there's not much of a area, I can go to spray it down. Don't have a garage or anything where I can try to prevent the dust at all.

IF you dont' have the right environment to paint in. It will be disasterous. The paint will show everything right down to dust. You should call around to a couple body shops and see what they'd charge you to do it. Shouldn't be a hell of a lot, and if you wan't it shiny they can clear coat for you and make it strong as hell and glassy.

Trust me. Pay someone to spray it. You shouldn't spend more than 50-60 for everything to have it sprayed.

Here's a new pic, with the test fitting of the stereo into it. The sides aren't exactly even yet, but the way I'm mounting it in, you'll never see the sides.

I don't think it's coming out too bad, for my first project. Ofcourse now I find out trying to test fit it into the console that it isn't the EXACT one I needed. The guy at the audio shop must have grabed one for a different honda. It's off by less than 1/2 inch, so I need to dremel the hooks on the back.

Well, I wasted a lot of time on this thing - It won't go into the dash at all, shaved off a bit from the bottom, and it'll kinda go in to the dash, and it fits, the curving isn't the same tho. from up and down.

What a waste of time I guess eh...

The shape is the same, but the curving from up and down, isn't the same, the hooks on the top, were a bit higher too...I'll edit some pics and show you guys.

The red circles are the hooks that hook into the dash, they were too high, just a tad bit higher than the other one i have, so I dremeled the whole top piece off, other wise it wouldn't fit at all. So after I did that I did another test fit into the dash.

After trying to mess with it more, and sanding down edges to see if I could, but the blue area, it's a slightly different curve. The red circle is where it's a bit smaller from side to side, fills up no where close to what my other dashkit does.

Here's what I did. Get the Metra kit and glue it in somewhere just to hold it still. Then sand the front of it down (along with the OEM radio bezel) Then pick up some duraglass or even bondo and start from the back and basically adhere the metra kit to your bezel. Sand the front down enough to where you can fill in the edges of where the kit meets the bezel. You need to do this because you will have a crack there (between the two pieces) and you need to put the bondo/duraglass up front too to achieve the look of it being all one piece. You follow me?

Use Tigerhair!!

This project has been blown way out of proportion. I just finished mine and honestly it wasnt THAT hard. I'm going to post a DIY with step by step instructions when i have it put in my car. Its already painted with clear coat and everything with very minor pinholes i just didnt wanna take the time to get out. They are hardly noticeable though. For now though, I will tell you, screw fiberglass, and screw abs plastic. If you wanna go through that trouble go to walmart, they have a $10 fiberglass kit. I used tigerhair ($11 for a small can at the local car shop) and it is just as strong, molds better, and does not require matting because the hair is already mixed in. Get regular bondo to smooth it out, and finally a glazing putty to finish it off ( i used dolphin glaze self leveling putty). 1 or 2 coats of primer sanded down well, 2 coats of paint, one coat of clear coat. I will post pics of the finished product so check back with me.
