help me decide
No.. I said that the 12" will play lower frequencys better thats all, spl (sound pressure level) has many attributes that must come together to work properly. Starting with enclosure the manufactoror tech support will tell you the same thing I will, ported enclosure's will produce more spl versus sealed, but sealed plays more accuratly. Ported enclosures will also play lower frequencys better and are harder to build properly. There are many factors to spl such as sound deadening, power upgrades like alternater rewireing. From what I seen the IDQ12" goes into a rather small enclosure thats not going to sound all that great, compared to a sub that is designed for large enclosure. Im not saying that IDQ will sound bad but it sounds to me that you want every bit of sound you get right? I would go with something that is desgined for large enclosures. How much cubic air space do you have to work with?
if you went with one sub (the dual voice coil) then connect both pos to the pos of amp and then both neg's to the neg of the amp.
They are 2ohm voice coils so by wireing them in parralell it will give your amp 1ohm of resistance. Which is the lowest your amp can run at.

According to power Acoustik, the amp is not stable the way you have it. Like EX said, you simply cannot do what you want to do with that equipment. You might be getting away with it, but it will eventually be the death of that amp. I vote sooner rahter than later.
no its not, its a 4ohm mono amp as he stated up above but he could be wrong, If its correct you'll smoke the amp with that configuration.your amp is 2ohm stereo and 4ohm mono. Thats why there is no way to acheive the proper load for the amp to put out all power possible safely.
in the future *ONCE I sell what i have" i will get the IDQ and the DI amp
but for now i gotta use what i have, so how should i wire it?
and what Voltage should i set my gain to?

One sub to one channel and one sub to the other channel. Follow? one on left and one on right. That will run it 4ohm stereo. From what I understand about most Headunits is this anything above 25v is clipping, Unless you have dual digital to analog converters (DACS) that are at least 24bit. If not the rule of thumb is no more than 25v. The rest is clipping or distortion. The reason being that most HU's that have dual dacs have high voltage output or built in line drivers. You can buy aftermarket line drivers audiocontrol makes them, but like I said before if your not competing in say "IASCA or USAC" just use what you have and go by ear, its the best way to know if your subs are getting distortion or not, then just back off the gain some.
