SRS Light

I'm not sure if I'm in the right forum, but maybe you guys can help me out. I had to remove the passenger seat yesterday and I unplugged the SRS wires to take the entire seat out. I put it back in and plugged the wires back together, but now I have this annoying light on my dash and I don't know what more I can do. If you guys can help, that would be great. Thanks

next time unplug the batter before you unplug the seats. Then make sure you plug the seats back in before you connect the battery.

There is a DIY somewhere for a procedure using a paperclip and a SRS plug under the dash that will reset your SRS light for you.

One more quesiton, with resetting this, I am getting the airbags to work again, I'm not just fooling the system to turn the light off and my system won't work again, right?

Air bags will work regardless, its merely a MIL light that is tripped. The light does not monitor the status of the SRS system, it only trips like an electrical breaker and needs to be manually reset. In another words, you fixed the SRS system by reconnecting the wires. The light just stayed on because there is no condition to trip it off. They do this so you'll bring the car into honda and 2 things will happen, 1. They will verify the SRS IS working thus negating themselves from a potential lawsuit. 2. Charge you for turning the lamp off.

So your saying the airbags will work. Cause Honda told me my whole SRS system is shut down. I'm assuming the airbags won't work.

I would say BS. I don't know exactly how the system is designed, but they would be opening themselves up to a lawsuit if they defeated the system by means of light being on that you can trip off with a paperclip. I think they are just telling you that, my opinon. ANyway, just turn it off and be done with it, it takes like 3.5 minutes to do.

Yea, i have the way to reset it, it didn't work last night, but i'm pretty sure I was doing it totally wrong. I'll try it again tonight, it seems pretty simple. But thanx for your help. Also kudos to the aweomse glass jobs you do to your car. I hope i can learn to glass like that some day.

the light doesnt come on from having the seats out, it comes from turing the key with the seats out. i found it out the hard way...my light is still on.
