3rd brake light vibration question
3rd brake light vibration question
the most annoying vibration noise is coming from the back of my car. i still have my stock system and it still vibrates. im not talking about my whole trunk vibrating or anything its like ONE specific thing vibrating on something else. i have a feeling its my 3rd brake light vibrating against the back windshield. is there any type of padding i can use to put it in between? ive seen some of u stuff a sock back there but it looks ghetto. and i dont want to cover up the brake light. hit me up please.

You could carpet the rear deck. another option is to tape off what you don't want "deadened" and spray it with a rubberized substance such as rubberized under coating. I'd say carpeting would be your best bet though. Maybe some foam weather stripping even.

have you tested to see if it is the rear brake light? or just assuming. just put towels and stuff to find out where the vibrations are. when it stops, then you'll know where to put your sound deadening material.
i have the same problem...dealership isn't covering under warrantee...my 3 years is up...
i'm going to take apart the whole rear deck over spring break, and sound deaden the whole panel, and put whatever buffers required to stop the stupid light from rattling.
By the way, it may not be the frame of the 3rd brake light hiting ur rear windshielld. For me, its the 3rd brake light rattling in its encloser. Either the clips are loose, or some screw came off or somethin happened. I gotta take the damn thing apart to further examine. You can temporarily stuff a newspaper wad there to prevent it from making alot of noise in the mean time...lol
good luck

i already solved the problem...my gf bought me some black felt sheets and i cut out enough so that it outlines the 3rd brake light enclosure. i wedged in there and it blends in nicely with my tint. speaking of the tint, be careful if u do somthing like this cuz i scratched some off (damn!) but omg what a difference without that vibration! i can feel that mellow hit of the stock speakers lmao
