Is there a 120mph bypass?
seem smost stock vics run to 120mmph or about 180kmh and then top out.
does anyone know if this is an electrical thing or if the engine is actually locked at 120?
is there a bypass or something?
oh and BTW
them bloody gain +35hp mids that they sell on ebay (i know its a frigin resistor) do they do squat if you do your own mod? or jsut burn richer

Its a cut off in the ECU nothing you can do but get a engine managment system.
The stupid thing on ebay doesnt do crap. Many people have bought it and it does nothing. There is nothing out that we can stick on our cars to gain any HP but a few other than n2o or Turbo. The basic I/H/E only gives you at the most 15HP if that.

If you have a SI or a K20 swap with ECU you can get the hondata Reflash but they dont make one for a D17 motors.

there might be a way but i have to do some more research. it basically would be a switch that would kill the speed sensor causing the ecu to not know how fast your going, but neither would you because your speedo wouldnt work. ive been talking to a guy with honda about it he's supposed to show me which clip the speed sensor is today ill post about it again later
sorry for the long post

since the speedo sensor goes to the ECU and if u get it to cut it off when u hit the switch that would report to the ECU that it isnt getting a signal so its gonna show a error which would put up a CEL. Which then to get the light to go away u gonna have to reset the ecu everytime.
Its just a thought i might be wrong but it seems pretty logical.
it might throw it, its never been done before. But when my friend and i did the same concept on his s-10 the only light that came on was abs and the abs didnt kick in or anything. only thing that happened was after he fliped the switchm the speedo drops to 0 the abs light came on and then went off about 5 min. later and 15min later my friend's s-10 that is gov. @ 95 was doing 115.
http://www.sshotrods.com/s10/new4.3/speed/ heres the link on everything that we did it will be the same thing just a diff car... if there is a speed sensor clip that i can unplug

I understand its never been done and i applaud you for trying something. I was just saying that as something that might happen. And you can compare a chevy to a honda. they are build different (i had one before my vic). But that is coo that it worked on your friends s-10.
How do u know how fast the truck was going if you had no speedo

Its not a speed limiter, its a rev limiter. You can go as fast as you damn well please, but you can't rev over a certain rpm and frankly, the car just reaches are threshold of drag once it gets up to a given speed.
I found that my automatic Civic stopped going any faster around 185km/h or so here in Edmonton, but when I was in Death Valley driving to California, with a tail wind, at sea level, the car made it up to 220km/h.

When I had my Jetta with the stock ECU chip in it, I was able to just disconnect the speed sensor on the tranny to bypass the governor. Sure I had no speedo, but I was so used to the car I knew how fast I was going by gear and rpm.
