I'm trying to buy some wire for the dash buttons.

Every button on the center dash is being moved to another area of the car.

The buttons include AC/heater/fanspeed assembly, AC/recirculate/reardef assembly, and the all mighty "look at my hazards from my taillights" button.

Can anyone suggest where to buy wire, what type to buy, what to look out for and what to avoid. Thanks in advance.

Since everything will be inside the car, you can use basic copper multi-strand.. 16-18 awg will be just fine. You can get a whole spool from just about anywhere for about $20. Home Depot, Pep Boys, wherever.

I might step up to 16-14 gauge if you were making a decent amount of lengthening. To account for line loss of course.

home depot do not carry those type of wires, the closest to them are the speaker wire which are too heavily insulated.

try partsexpress.com just stick to ~18 guage is good enough. you dont want to have too big of wires thatll make harder to run though.

a larger guage wire is totally unneccesary unless your running like 60 feet. Just match the guage you've got.

wow, I'll be the first to ask, where you putting it all? Your options are limitless, like Sarah-michelle Gellar said, You can put it anywhere! Personally, I was going to put the Recirc, rear def, and ac button console in that tiny rectangle pocket in the console in front of the armrest.
