Try this, wrap the wires in some wire loom and run them down the passenger side. Insulate them the best you can (gotta be careful of semantics around here, there are grammar ****'s hawking the ice forums, because we all know spelling effects performance right? I digress...) and run them. The passenger side has the least moving parts is why I suggest there. I'd run the power, and remote down the driver's side, and speaker wire down the center (so it gievs you an equal distance to driver and passenger side). You can run them any way you want, just keep the RCA's seperate from everything else. If that still doesn't help, you might want to check into the qualityof the wire and step up to a better quality/grade.

does the buzzing change in pitch as you accelerate or does it stay constant?

I had this problem alot using lower quality amps. Radio shack makes a ground loop isolater that you install between the head unit and amplifier, I'd assume you'd need two to isolate your fronts and rears. Filters are under $20 each. Another factor may be the RCA wiring - cheaper wires don't have as much shielding and will conduct interference more.

The filters do affect your overall sound as I belive they work by eliminating frequencies from the sound spectrum that carry interference - but I didn't notice that much of a difference - audiophiles here will poo poo them.

The more expensive solution is to upgrade the amp....Alpine is VERY good at handling noise reduction.

further note - I'll NEVER recommend much from radio shack except these filters and their rechargable batteries....most anything else I've bought from them has turned out SHODDY.

I didn't know what brand of amp and model number - no insult intended. My experience with alternator whine is that some amps filter better than others.

Rick don't be mean, you know I can figure it out... I just don't have the fracking time without getting crapped on.

The one thing that you didn't try is the rca's rounted on the outside of the car. I know you're waiting for some and I will attempt to run out on my lunch break and get some. BUT I will most likely have them for you on Monday when I don't have to deal with any **** from my bastard employers!.... Or you could always drive to Richmond for me..
