bass issues
bass issues
hey guys noob here looking for some help, i havent had a car in a while used to have an expedition, traded it in for my new civic 4dr just put in two 12'' w6's, now my problem is that im happy with the bass when i have my seats down, but when there up all i here is rattling like crazy, do you guys experience this too? Or is there something you can do let the air flow through the front? Thanks in advance
Well if your hearing too much rattling I think you should buy some dynamat you can get it on e-bay for a good price. But from what I've seen it is alot of work to lay down and to cut and piece everything up. They also have the spray i'm not sure if that works though.

First and foremost, read the sound deadening DIY. Mat deadener will do absouloutely nothing for you unless you do a few steps prior to that, such as foaming the trunk lid, foaming everywhere between gaps b/t pieces of metal pretty much. Simply matting will only trap the rattles in. There are a lot of other things that can be done which are covered in the deadening DIY stickied at the top.
Everyone's civic that I've sat in, rattles. Moreso on the outside, but the plastic trim piece in the back in the likely culprit. There are several threads on some cheap alternatives to fix it. I actually put in carpet pad between the metal and trim. Ghetto, but it worked.
By the way, try searching because although most are very helpful, some of these guys aren't too understanding why you can't be on the board 24/7 and read every thread.

Our cars are notoriously bad for rattle issues. Don't ask why, maybe honda is working in conjunction with the manufacturers of deadeners because they know that civics are the most budget friendly tuner platform.

The biggest problem is people putting giant subs in their trunks, crossing them around 60Hz, and wanting to feel base, without their cars feeling the bass.
I'll be dropping some Raammat in my car this weekend, in addition to the berberesqe currently under the carpet, and weather stripping on the trunk, but mostly because I want to drive the highway in peace.
