xbox placement

aight so i have search and found the ps2 placement threads, but lets be realistic, ps2's are a little easier to place than an xbox. I want to place my mod'd xbox somewhere in my car, thinking about trunk or behind my driver seat (no one sits there) or somewhere else, someone PLEASE HELP........the only thing about the trunk is that rca cable cost a lot to run and i would need a lot of it. I am balling on a budget since i just got the screen and mod'd my xbox within the past 2 mths.

ohh yah and as for those of u with an xbox get it mod'd it is sooooooo pimp. you can do sooo much with this machine it is amazing!

I'd go for the wheel well, If you slide your spare up, you should be able to fit it between the spare tire and the rear wall, all under the stock floor. Although, the way the CD tray comes out, it would be somewhat difficult to get to, but if it's all modded, you probably hardly need to open it to put a CD in.

Another place would be possibly, i'm not sure about this one, but in the trunk, on one of the sides, on the left or right, between the metal brace and the outer metal. You could have the tray stick out.

RCA cables aren't too expensive, if you can, get some cable and make your own, or get a lower end set of car audio RCAs, I got a set from hhgregg for really cheap, if i remember correctly, under $15 for a pair. If you need, measure it out and I can build you a set of RCA cables.

Hey man
I dunno if you came across my thread as to where to place a ps2
I would put it in the trunk, or use the idea M3RKR33 found, whichever works

hey sig thanks for the article, they have a great place to place the invertor, i will def use that, as for the placement of the modual i am not sure xbox is too thick, ed thats a good idea......i will have to see about placing it on the floor in the trunk where the spare is, if not i think i may place it under my seat (drivers side) and just run the wires there.

It might be easier under the seat [does it fit height wise?], especially for swapping out discs. How about under the passenger seat? I want to think there's more room under there.

Edit:

There should be enough room, I fit this lil 8" sub in there:

The dimensions of that box are:

11"x5.5"x16.5"

The dimensions of the Xbox are:

11.4"x3.42"x11.4"

I really think it'll fit, when you try, make sure to unscrew the spare, and re-secure it using one of the lugholes, gives you another 3 or so inches.

I have my amplifier in there right now, and there is plenty of space to put a thick later of Foam under it, to protect the unit.

right now the xbox is under the driver seat, but, using a dvd remote the box needs to be relocated to either the passenger side bottom, or somewhere else? under the glove box may be nest which would not be too bad, i have have to figure out a way to make sure that i can remove it pretty easily. where do u find the metal brackets that are used to hold the xbox up? I may make a shelf for it and then mount it like that so i can slide it in and out.

where can i ger the metal strips? also can i remove the black thing under the glove box? it is like a black plastic thing that i am assuming is covering wires

sounds like a little much work for me i really like the idea of mounting it how they have it in the car audio magazine, and then dressing it up with a cover so it is harder to see. I just need someone to tell me where i can find the metal brace piece, bendable metal strips.....i am not sure what they are called but thats what i need!
