It's not hard.. I installed the Compustar 2WSSR (remote start and alarm, with window roll up, trunk pop) in my car in about 8 hours with an hour break
Just somewhat time consuming.

It shouldn't be too hard. I installed a crime guard 745i4 in my civic, and I had never done any kind of electrical stuff. Just make sure you've tapped the right wires. A multimeter is essential for this...

I love how you can tell someone that installing an alarm isn't hard. It isn't hard for people like us that are MECP certified. Just think back to you first alarm install. Think if you had to do a remote start alarm with windows and trunk pop your very first time. You would have probably been horrified. Alarms for newbies are very difficult. They get overwhelmed with all the wires. Not to mention how to find and test the correct wires in the car.

Just my 2 cents.

true.
for the first timers, you ought to start w/ a alarm/KEntry.

but then again, passin a MECP test does not mean it would be easier for you to install alarm. its all in the experience. learning it is one thing, hands-on would be a diff story.

I never passed a MECP...I don't even know what that is...I wouldn't say it was really hard, just time consuming. The hardest part of the install for me was getting used to working in really tight spaces.

MECP = Mobile Electronics Certified Professional. It is one of the only certifications for the car audio/alarm/mobile video industry. It does not mean that you can install at all. It only means that you understand the theory of how all the electronics work. It also goes over the general concepts of installation.

It is like the ASE certification for mechanics.

Yea but experience beats MECP hands down.

The civic really isnt that bad to install an alarm with keyless. Even if you have never done one, the locks are negative which ever alarm has and then power, ignition and parking lights and doorpin. Even someone who has never done it could probly do an alarm in 2 hours in a civic.

Drop me an email if you have any questions.

Installing is not so bad...I install a Viper 791 (alarm with remote start, trunk pop, window and sunroof roll up and down, and gps) with 5 hours....You just need the right tools and a couple hours
