Places for 0 gauge grommet in firewall
So in a couple weeks, I will be running 1/0 gauge power and ground to replace my 6 gauge. I've come to the conclusion that 2 0 gauge wires will not fit through the grommet on the passenger side, so I bought 2 1/0 grommets to go through the firewall somewhere else. I was wondering where a good place would be to do that. Anyone that has done this, suggestions would help.

yeah, determine the path of the wires on the engine side of the firewall and drill somewehre close to the existing grommet but OUT OF THE WAY of the existing wires
question..
why you wanna run the second 0 gauge ground thru the firewall??
is yer battery still located under the hood??
if so it's better to keep the 0 gauge ground as close to the amps as possible..it doesn't have to go back to the battery

Yeah that is a good point... you only need to pull one wire through, i missed where you said power AND ground.
you should be able to fit 1/0 thru the grommet, so no drilling necessary

another thing..
0 gauge'll run down the side no problem, but be prepared to cut out the little plastic bits on the bottom side of the sill cover unless ya wanna bubble up your carpet (looks cheezy with carpet bulging)
been thru the 0 situation twice, once rectangular wire and then rounded..

i agree....i would only pull 1, 0 gauge wire through.
Yeah, the reason I wanted to return to the battery is because I have my system currently grounded to the frame, about 2 feet from the amps, but I'm still getting very small amounts of alternator whine. I was hoping that returning the ground to the battery would help this problem.
