Better bass up front
Better bass up front
ok, ive read in some posts that bass up front can sound great. i know that putting a 8" sub in your door requires incredible modification. If you had 2ways, wooffer in door and tweeter in either the door or in the back of mirror panel, could you put an 8" or a " subwoofer in the kick panels and have it sound great?
Getting an 8" in the kicks would be damn hard. They need a lot of space ..... generally about 0.33 cu ft I think.
Heres a pic of the sub boxes for my JL 8w3's in my truck. Both boxes are an exact 0.33 cu ft.

why not just put decent 6.5" comp set up front. Mine work fine and play plenty low. If you buy a good set they'll play just fine. I've got a set of Orion HCCAs and my buddies thought i had a pair of 8s in the trunk.
I can't imagine too much more bass up front, I have some pioneer coaxials up front and the entire door rattles, it's better when i have the hpf at 80 hz. If you do, make sure to deaden the door a lot, especially the door handle and the lock mechanism.

8's would be really nice for midbass, my buddy has a set of MBQ reference 8" woofers that he wants me to install in my front stage somewhere, but I think they are too beefy to deal with.
FYI, the best bass setup in the front that I have seen is an AVI 6.5" woofer in the dash in a ported setup, if I ever become so inclined I am going to do a similar installl myself, but this car sounds amazing, likely to become a world champ soon

I think White Rabbit had/has those at some point.
I was thinking of gutting my back seat and putting the sub there. Nobody sits back there and my boxes only sit about 6.5" high x 9". I would just have to find a way to protect them if someone decided to sit in the back.
