2 or 4 ohm sub needed?
I have this amp: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-dMmM31c...p?i=500MRDM301
Alpine MRD-M301
Specs: 175 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
350 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
I want to get a dual voice coil sub; should i go with a 2ohm or 4ohm sub?
some people were telling me to get 4ohm cause it would be louder, but i dont understand why if the max rms is at 2 ohms...i thought a 2ohm sub would be better. Someone tell me which one is right?

A dual 4 ohm voice coil sub can be wire to 8 ohms or 2 ohms, a dual 2 ohm can be wired to 1 ohm or 4 ohms. If your amp can't handle 1 ohm then you will have to wire a dual 2 ohm to 4 ohms which would give less out put than wiring a dual 4 ohm to 2 ohms. Make sense. I knew it would
