Not too much theft where I live, least not in my area though. I only detach when I'm in an area known to be with gangsters. Although that is rare, because I don't even go to those places much anyways. Otherwise I just park in the garage. I hate having a bulk in my pocket, so I just keep it in the side panel, they can't see, so they can assume.

I take mine off when on the street and lock EVERYTHING in trunk.
When you do take off the face be careful of laying the connectors in the carpet, I zapped a Clarion unit once by laying it connector down.

Rep Power: 295 I put mine in the trunk, did it every time I parked....then I was parked at my girlfriends house and thought I was only gonna be in for a sec.....so I left it in.........came back and nothing but smashed glass and wires......and this wasn't in the getto at all
