Ok, I have about $300 in PayPal funds to spend on a good Sub. I am searching Ebay and see these AudioBahn Bandpass boxes everywhere and although they look cool, I don't know about the quality. Here are some links I am looking at:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT
Now, these are not nearly $300 but do I really need to spend that much to get decent output? I like loud bass, thumping bass, I also like to hear the lows too! I like all types of music but most listen to techno!
I am so confused on subs right now can someone offer any advice or maybe some links on Ebay to a decent, quality set of subs? I don't want anything used ok?
So, what would you buy if you had $300 or less. Keep in mind, I want to whole thing... subs AND box. It can be a single sub or two (2), it doesn't matter as long as it pounds! I would like to shop on Ebay using PayPal but I can also shop using a credit card on other sites.
Thanks!

To sum it up...
Best "thump" for the price, under $300. This includes a box. I keep going round and round on this. One sub, two, 10", 12", blaa...blaa...blaa...
I just don't want to buy junk you know and I'm afraid of some things on Ebay. But, you can also find some very good deals!

I have had 10w6s and they were incredible

I've never had the squar solos but I've heard them sound awesome. Real tight.

Yep, those look solid alright but again, they are used. I am always afraid to purchase used items because you never know what you're gonna get. I know, that's just me. I've just been burned too many times man. Anyway, thanks for the info! I will keep my eye on those and think about it for sure.
If anyone can just list the brands I should look for and the ones I should stay away from that would help too. I don't know much about subs as you can tell...
Thanks again!

www.hookedontronics.com has my subs Alpine Type R 12" for $110 range I think.. they have RF subs too, I got a dual 12" box locally for $58, so you could go w/ 2 Type Rs, or Type S's, I think Type S is slightly cheaper, but RF subs can b had for cheap too.. I think they have other brands aswell, maybe Kicker too, but I know theres atleast 5-10 diff brands.

too many options... go sealed for techno though, the bandpass will turn tight quick beats into chunky soup. and i'd say 12s in general, because they will give you more of the low notes. but 10s may help the subs keep up. 12s in a well built sealed box (not a half *** box glued with gum) of 3/4 mdf will be pretty darn good though. i'd reccommend avoiding ebay for the box buying. if you want it to pound 2 will be easier to do it with.

Here is the amp I am getting, except mine has a little more power. (1600 Watts) I know, it's not the best amp in the world you will probably say but I'm on a budget here!

So with this amp in mind, that might help you answer my sub question. I plan to amp my two front speakers and bridge the sub if that helps.
Anyway, I do like the idea of two 12" in a sealed, quality box. Thanks.

and egads, i would not tell you to buy that amp. you're better off going w/out bass for a few weeks than wasting money on an amp that poor. and amps are even one thing i cut corners on sometimes, but not that bad. PM alex053, ask if he still has his amp for sale, it was a couple bucks more but would blow that one away.

I saw some Alpine "S" series 12" subs today and they sounded nice. I might get two of those and a sealed box. As far as the amp, oh well... too late now. I'll see how it all sounds and I can always sell the amp and get something else later down the road. I knew that amp was not going to be popular here.

Well, way to burst my bubble regarding the amp!
That's ok, I'll see what it sounds like. Hey, coming from NO sub at all will sound awesome I'm sure. I can always upgrade later. I also heard today from the sales rep at a local audio shop that those Pioneers sound great, so it must be true. I will look into those online. Thanks!
Soon I hope to be "bumpin", er... Um, "thumpin". Whatever.....
Oh yea, if I get those Pioneers, two of them... what size sealed box should I look for? I imagine they size the specs to each chamber? For the Alpine's the sales rep said .85-1.5 or something like that. I wrote it down somewhere.
Thanks again!

1.5 cubes per chamber for the Pioneer Premiers....and Pioneer recommends a ported box for the BEST sound. I found a nice box on ebay...the sellers ID is SubsDotKom. They got nice boxes for Cheap! and thinkin about it, you can get a box and these two subs for under $300! You got the hook up playa!
Ebay Item number: 5722326625
that box is only $39 bux plus shippin' and its ported and is 1.5 cubes per chamber. I just recently bought that box from them and i should be gettin it tomorrow. Box + (2) Premier Subs for under $300...you can't complain!

And for amps..I have a Hifonics Brutus BX1500D...which is a 1500x1 Mono Amp. I have it running both of my Premiers and they push it. Comes wit a Bass **** and can be tweaked to ur desire. I got mine for $210...but save up for a good amp. I'd recommend the Hifonics Brutus BX1500D.

Well, I purchased the Pioneer subs. $109 each off Etronics website. Great deal. So I have two of those coming!
I will get that box mentioned once I measure my trunk just to make sure it's gonna fit ok, which I'm sure it will.
Anyway, thanks again for the advice! I just had to make a move, I've been struggling with this sub thing too long. Now I can relax and just hope everything works well. If I tire of my amp, I can always upgrade later. ANY bass right now will be awesome compared to the lack of it now. I have none with just two front speakers!
Oh yea, I plan to get some kick panels so I can add some quality comps for the front later. Probably some Alpine's or Infinity Kappa's. (those will be amped as well)

Alright! You got the Premiers...good move! I sure wish Pioneer would make a high-end Premier amp...that would be killer. My next move is to buy another Hifonics Brutus BX1500D so I can have a seperate amp for each sub. If you truly want a good amp later in the future I'd recommend a Soundstream Tarantula 1600/2CH...I think its 1600...go check it out tho...Soundstream and Hifonics will make ur subs POUND!
