08 Si Mods
08 Si Mods
Hi Everyone!
I'm a fresh member here, and just picked up my new blk 08 Civic Si today. Needless to say, I'm stoked! I tried to do a fairly decent overview of previous posts, but there are a few things I would love to get some more info on.
I plan on doing tint (any % suggestions for blk paint??), and CAI fairly soon. But right now, I really want to get goin on setting up a red LED underdash accent light setup. Anyone know what the best products are for 8th gen si lighting?
Also, I have a total audio set up from my old 98 Si that is only like 6 months old, so I want to throw it into the new Si. I'm comfortable with the head mod and will replace all the 61/2" speakers, but I was curious if anyone has any advice in terms of adding my amp and sub? I've heard it might not be as easy as I think, especially in terms of adding it to the existing factory amp and 8" sub...
Any help/advice would really be appreciated!~

Re: 08 Si Mods
Tint - be aware that going with anything darker than 35% may cause some problems:
1. You'll have to lower your passenger window and use the side view mirror to back up at night.
2. You will get more looks (and possibly more tickets) from the police.
3. If you are in an accident and found to be at fault, your insurance can deny you coverage if they find out about illegal tint.
Be safe - go with 35% all around. It's enough tint to look really sharp, but not so much that it will cause problems.
Congrats on the new ride -- hope the delivery went well!
