EX Model and Head Units (Alpine 9833)
EX Model and Head Units (Alpine 9833)
Question from a car electronic newbie:
I'm thinking about upgrading my head unit and my speakers from the stock to an alpine 9833 and whatever speakers (I think i have 6.5's in front and back). I have an 04 Couple EX (which has 6 speakers). I was just wondering how the 6 speakers works with a headunit other than the stock one? Also: Because i upgrade the front and rear speakers, do i have to upgrade the small tweeters in the front, or can those remain stock?
The reason I want the Alpine 9833 is because i want a good sounding system without losing my trunk and having tons of wires going all over the place. It has the built in V-Drive? Power Amplifier. I know it won't be as powerful as a system with external amps and subs, but i just don't want the extra stuff in my trunk. Has anyone hooked up this V-Drive thing right to the battery? Does it work better than traditional power. Just some questions. Thanks.

Becuase they are wrong, and 6.5's will fit in the rear deck with an adapter.
I believe the stock front speakers are 8 ohms a piece and wired in parallel giving you a 4 ohm load. If you are going to replace the speakers I would recommend replacing them all including a good component set for the front.
For ease of installation and respectable SQ, I recommend the Alpine Type-S SPS-171A 6.5" component set

go to your trunk... and you will see trunk springs? iuno what you call it.
some speakers, the magnet is too deep that it will rub against that spring. thats why they dont recommend any kind of 6x9
