Car Alarm Guru's Please Help Me!

I have a Clifford Martix 2.5X and just had Best Buy install the proximity alarm when was in there last time and had them adjust the sensitivity because it would take a lot to make the alarm go off. Anyways, now the alarm is way to sensitive and almost anything will set it off. My question is, is there a way to arm the proximity sensor by like holding the arn button for a couple seconds, and just the normal alarm by just tapping the button?

Thats what i really want so dont have the proximity on all the time, but still arm the alarm.

Or if that cant be done, does anyone know if i can just turn the sensitivity on the alarm down, or is there a seperate **** for the proximity sensor as well?

My alarm has been going off all the time and have just had to not arm the alarm but lock the doors at night so wont go off at crazy hours. I would go back to Best Buy to have them adjust it, but I am at school now, and Best Buy is like 6 hours away, so want to do it on my own. Thanks

There should be a seperate **** for the prox sensor

I don't know if you can manually select the proxy or not, but somebody who knows that alarm (the installers for one) may know

You'll probably need to check with the installers, but you should be able to control what zones are armed. Assuming the prox sensor is its own zone (it should be), read the owner's manual for the alarm to see how to selectively arm zones. On my Python (a DEI system, like yours), I can control zones by repeatedly pressing the lock button when arming the system. Each press within a couple of seconds turns off a specific zone, eventually leaving me with nothing but the ignition sensor.

So does that mean that the proximity would be set as zone 1? I know i can do the different zones. Just didnt know if it had to be set up or what not. I cant get over to the installers for a couple weeks so want to tweek it myself. Will get under there and check it out tomorrow.

On my Python, I think it would be Zone 4...I think Zone 2 is the shock sensor on mine. It probably varies based on model.

Look at the manual for anything similar to "multi-level arming", and play around a little bit.
