OK I've got a few questions... I hope that someone out there can help me out!!!
Ok so I've got an old Kicker Comp 10". The only information that I can find on it is this auction that is currently up on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...707085191&rd=1
This auction says that the speaker is a 4 ohm speaker. However, I've tested the connectors on the back of the box that the sub is installed in, and it shows 8.1 ohms on my multimeter. What could the problem be? Or is this speaker really an 8 ohm speaker?
OK my second question is much stranger... hopefully I'll be able to explain this in such a way that someone can understand it. OK so when I took my car to the shop to get my speaker installed they put this box (maybe 4"x3"x2") into my trunk. It had a bunch of unstripped wires coming out of it in addition to 4 RCA jacks (2 black, 2 red). Currently, 4 of the wires that are coming out of the box are patched into the wires that go into my back speakers (2 on each side). As best I understand, this box is meant to tap into the rear speakers' input so that I can use the RCA jacks as inputs to my amp. Now here's the problem. Only 1 (one) of the 4 RCA jacks is live. By this I mean that if I take a single RCA male-to-male cord and attach one end to the input on my amp, and take the other end and plug it into each of the 4 RCA jacks on the little box, the sub will only work when it is plugged into that one RCA jack. Now after that terribly long introduction, my question: My amp is currently running in bridged/mono mode. However, if it is only recieving input on one side (from only one RCA jack), doesn't that mean that it's not really getting twice the power as if it was running in stereo mode?
Thanks to anyone that could actually understand that and responds!!!

Your speaker is probably 8 ohm... they may have made a 4 and 8 ohm model. Can you provide me with the exact model number of the sub? Also, take the sub out of the box and check the impedance on the woofer terminals.
And to answer your question, yes, only have the signal is getting to the amp. Sounds like it could be a bad line level convertor. Check the voltage on each RCA out to verify this.

As for the other question i woul have to say that you have a bad line in on your amp or as stated before me a bad line level converter.

It's not the amp, because when I plug the ONE good RCA jack into _EITHER_ line input on the amp, I get sound. It's just that none of the other RCA jacks will give me any output. Can anyone give me a slightly more detailed explanation of how to fix/diagnose the problem further?
Check to make sure all the wire crimps on the speakers and the line level converter are good and solid. If they are, you could always cut the wire and redo them, if that doesnt solve the problem, your best bet would be to go get another line level converter and replace the one you have. They should be about $15-$30.
