Concept for box design
I was bored at work today so I made this concept for a sub box... let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions. The sub would be firing towards the front of the box and the magnet would be in the spot that has the most open area, if you can picture that.

it's not horning..it's just curving. I've played around with TQFH's for my home setup they are a serious biatch to get right. you might have to re-bult that box 4-6 times before it sounds right.. good project though

Not that Bose is my favorite brand, but this seems similar to what you might me trying. and if you will notice that the speaker doesnt project into a "tunnel" (my word for lack of a better understanding), its the back of the speaker (magnet) that goes into the tunnel. I don't know if you have heard this little system, but it can produce some good sound, as well as get pretty loud.
good luck

mr megahurtz, youre better off just going with more airspace and more port area if youre looking to meter higher

Well actually I want to make something for my home theater in my room.
I wanna put the sub under my bed and get a lot of output, but right now the box I have is just a wee bit too big, and it doesn't put out that much bass either.
Short of switching to a seperately powered sub or adding a seperate amp, I wanted to see what kind of results I would get from building a better enclosure...
So if you guys think you have some better designs, let me see them. I have only 6" of height to make a box, but tons of length and width that I can use for voluem.
