Electrical - What should I do (amps, etc.)
Electrical - What should I do (amps, etc.)
I won an Audiobahn amp (a2x600hq) at USACi last fall, now I'm wondering how should I hook it up. I have a 03 EX Civic Sedan and want to do the Least amount of stuff nessicary to get max out of my amp (money is an issue). SO I was thinking maybe re-do my grounds in the engine compartment or something? New alternator would be last on the list but I'm ready to do that if I have to. I already have 4ga running in my car.. should I get 2 or 0ga? Optima? Alternator?
oh yeah,
I have a crappy 1200 watt crunch amp now pushing one of the subs, and my lights dim... boo...

Easiest way would be to get an amp install kit with all the fuse and wire stuff. 4 gauge should be plenty, and a group51 yellow optima is not a bad idea if you're gonna be bumping it with the car off. The yellow is very resilient to drain/recharge cycles. If the lights dim and it bothers you, just buy a 1-2 farad capacitor for that.
