Power To Trunk...HELP!!!
Power To Trunk...HELP!!!
Somebody, please help me out. I need to run a power wire to the trunk area that is switched on with the ignition (or Accessory position). What is the easiest way to do this?!?? TIA!
Cig lighter would be easiest...what are you powering? If it's something with a high current draw you are gonna need to use a relay tripped by the ciglighter/ignition and getting power from the battery.

if you let us know what you are trying to power and for what reason then we might be able to help you out a bit more.....cause if its for extra lights in the trunk....and since you don't need lights when the trunk is closed....then you can just tap into the trunk light...but what exactly are you trying to hook up and why?

the only strictly ignition wire youll find with ease is in the steering column.
if you dont mind using an accessory wire, which is also on with ignition, but also when the key is in accessory more, tap off the wire behind the radio

the right way to do it is to run a power wire from the column back to the trunk. its accually easier than u think, u can tuck the wire all the way back without takin off n e panels. u really have to be carefull about tapping multipal things (even low voltage) into facory wiring, the tend to get hott even with the factory fuse.
