speaker problem

a couple days ago my music cut out completely. i have no clue why. it comes on fine when i turn on the car but if i turn or hit any sort of bump it will go out. i thought it was a wiring problem with the hu, but all the connections seemed to be good. also, when the music isn't working, some crackling comes from the rear speakers.

check your speakers...one of your wires might be pinched causing a short

Looks like a sticky situation. First off, what kind of system do you have? is it stock or after market? If so, what have you done, and by whom? Tell me more info about your system and I will help you with what may be causing the problem.

I'd say one of the terminals on the rear speakers is either touching the truks tortion bar or the metal surrounding the speaker. Could always be connections at the head unit if it's aftermarket.

could be the RCA terminal on the board of the amp is cracked, I use to have that problem with a few of my electronic components...if all else fails open up the amp and check the solder points on amp see if there is a fracture there

I wouldnt exactly open up the hu unless you dont have a warranty on it anymore. This sounds like a short somewhere, you have a wire that is touching ground and you need to find where it is.
