kind of a stupid question considering the manual is saying to do it..
I got a Pioneer 7600 and it's saying for any car with an antenna in the glass to wire the remote tun on to it?? should I do this...
I'm just alittle lost becasue I didn't with my last deck and things seamed o.k

Well, I put in my deck before I put in my amp. I didn't have to connect my remote wire to anything. You still have to plug in the antenna for the radio though. I don't have a pioneer deck though.
Why don't u you try to do it without the remote wire first. If it doesn't work, then connect the remote wire.

Usually there are 2 leads out of the decks.... remote and power antenna.
The remote is on whenever the HU is on. This way it turns on amps etc whenever you turn on the HU.
The power antenna is just that. It powers the antenna up whenever the radio portion of the HU is on. In most cars this made the antenna raise up.
Now days many cars have the antenna's in the windows. Some cars also have boosters associated w/ this to help them out. I believe this is what the manual is referring to that you need to hook up. Otherwise your radio reception will really suffer.
In a pinch the remote wire could be used to power the antenna. But w/ this scheme it will have it on whenever the HU is on, not just when the radio portion is being used. It can't be substituted the other way around or your HU would only turn the amps on when the Radio portion of the HU was on, not CD, etc .....

Thanks guys...I guess I'm gonna try hooking it up becaus the radio just doesn't sound as clear as I think it should be.
It makes sense to do it I just never heard anything about anyone doing it.
