Alarm LED scanner
I want to get rid of my stupid red LED that came with my alarm and put an LED scanner in it's place. The one thing on my mind is that since the LED blinks and I am guessing the alarm just turns it off and on, that if I install a scanner, the scanner would just turn off and on as well, and not actually do any of the scanning functions because it's turning off too quick.
If this is the case, what can I do to fix this and put a scanner on my alarm?

There is no circruity to cause it to be a blinking LED
Or do they make LED's that blink without having a circuit that just blink with only having 2 wires hooked up?

Yeah. I had problems with this at first. You have to tap into the orange wire on the alarm itself and hook that to the scanner. It is a constant ground from when the alarm is armed instead of the pulsing ground that the regular LED is hooked up to.

yeah that could be done
i just hooked up my install to constant and switched power so that it comes on whenever i pull the key out, not exactly on the alarm, but good enough

So what you are saying is if I was to walk out of your store with 2 handfuls of merchandise, you'd pretend not to notice?
