Help Installing Front Speakers...
so, I just purchased a pair of Pioneer 6.5" 4-way speakers for the fronts and i'm planning on DIY installing them this weekend. i've read the instructions in the DIY section, but they mainly just cover removing the door panel. do i need wiring harness to connect these new speakers to the factory wiring, and does anybody have a link to a specific one or where i could get it? also, any tips on making my own spacers or buying them? mounting depth is 2 5/16"
any install tips or other things i might need would be much appreciated. thanks for the help!

You really wont need a wiring harness. You can just cut the stock honda one off and just crimp the speaker wires to the honda speaker wires. I think you need some speaker brakets too. All the information on the wiring harness and speaker brackets is on crutchfield.
I hope this link works:

when I changed my front speakers, I didn't use spacers or brackets. I used some twist ties, and tighting them down like that. There are no screws holding my front speakers in place. Its a ghetto way to install the speaker, but it works as good as a bracket.

well, i would prefer to install these in the most non-ghetto way possible, i really dont mind buying spacers/brackets if that is whats needed to make the install cleaner. also, i don't want to cut the stock harnesses, so which harnesses would i need to buy from crutchfield?

good luck with those brackets. Although crutchfield said they'd be compatible with my 2003 civic ex, I got them and could not get fit them for sh*t. I e-mailed Schoche, and a rep replied:" The sah6 will not work for the 03 civic. So yea you can't trust crutchfield for everything.
People seem to install new speaks by making spacers out of MDF. That's what I plan to do also.
