Eclipse Amp.

Hi, I have an eclipse amp model 3242, its a 4 channel amp. Besides it specs I will get to the point.

When I power it up, the power LED goes green for a second then it turns off. I checked, and changed all the fuses but no go.

Does anyone have any ideas ?

Gound maybe? Make sure your grounds are tight on bare metal. Does you amp have a "protection" mode, and is a lit indicating it?

the ground is fine because I have another amp connected now to it ( rockford) and it works fine. It doesn't have a protection LED. I have unscrewed it to try to narrow it down to maybe a fried component, but i'm stumped.

Do you have another amp that you can hook up to see if all the connections work with another amp?

i had an RF laying around and I hooked it up yesterday and it works. I dont have 2 amps installed.. its just 1, and 1 set or wires...

I put a can of Co2 at the amp.. I"m gonna try it now to see if it might have been a short of some sort.

nope, did nothing...
I have a small 12v power supply at home. I powered up the amp, it stayed on longer then it did when hooked up to the car, BUT ! it drew soo much power that it melted the cables to the power supply...
