Anyone here have their entire car stripped on teh interior and have it Sound Proofed (Dynamat,Tacmat,Acoustic Foam)? And if so how much $$$ did it cost.I'm thinking about skipping the whole make my civic fast idea and go with a wicked sounding system. So I want to have my interior and hooked up to get rid of road noise and that damn panel rattling!

I got my fatmat for 75 for 100 sq ft direct from fatmat. Anyway, good luck trying to get rid of rattles using mat dampener. I used 100 sq ft, and 6 cans of expanding foam, and i still have some rattle, and that's just in my trunk.

i almost forgot, if you hate road noise try covering the back deck real good. i have had my back deck off all week for a small project, and when it rains or snows (ugh) it gets really kinda loud inside the car. and my doors are deadened pretty well.
TO deaden your plastic panels, first put fatmat on the back side of them, then spray Mar Hyde rubber undercoating on them (1 or more cans per panel). zero rattling after thats done. Road noise is very difficult to get rid of in my experience....i'm still working on it after 120 sq. feet of fatmat just in the passenger area of the car (none in trunk yet) and lots of sound absorbing carpet padding.

I got dymamat (single layer) on the trunk floor, all the doors, and the rear deck. I had the two front doors done and they charged $100. They I got smart and did the rest myself. I also have v-comp foam on top of the dynamat for the front doors where the speakers are. Then I put some brown bread on the floor and covered it all with carpet foam. Seems to help. You can also get some rubberized undercoating and spray that in the wheel wells outside of the car.
Got a fatmat hoodliner as well, but it doesn't do much and keeps falling off (still smells after a year as well). Get dynamat inside, since it doesn't smell. It sticks permanently.

MY fatmat experience didnt go very well either. It fell of my trunk lid and onto my amp and stained it which i wasnt too happy about. I've heard good stuff about secondskin tho. Its a little more but the guy i work with just got some and it seems to stick way better and not smell so bad.

Wow, I guess imjust in time. I just applied fatmat to my trunk yesterday and it stopped my trunk rattle completely.
The only badd part is that now its my rear deck thats buzzin. I wanna try some fatmat back there but i dunno. What do u guys recommend, Ive seen more than one person use the ol' towel/t'shirt method. Oh and my rearview mirror buzzes sometimes too. What 4 that?
