Molding trunk sides?

I want to mold some like side panels into the trunk. I was wondering what kind of material would be best? I want it to fit snuggly but also be rather easy to take out. Kind of like this picture i found. But not in yellow of course.

to mold anything you want, you must come up with the contour, here is the standard way of doing it:

lets say you wanted to make that board that the guy in teh above post did. start with a board say 8 inches square. Now grab a corrugated cardboard box and cut it into a bunch of strips that are a foot long and 2 inches wide or so. they can vary, thats jsut the approximate size.

now take your 8 inch board and set it on teh floor of the trunk, standing on edge, right where his board is. now you jsut gotta make the form fit.

take your strips, and set them on the 8" board and line them up with the contour of the trunk, then stablegun it onto the board, keep doing this around the entire edge of the trunk. then you can remove the board, and trace around the cardboard onto your piece of wood you will cutout for the real thing!

now you have a perfect mold of htat area
