Rear Deck Nightmare
Ok so I'm one of the many wanting to get rid of my rear deck and trunk rattle.Well a few month ago I took off my trunk lid and put dynamat extreme on it and thats fixed so I wanted to move to my rear deck today! Well I gt everything disassembled and put on a layer of dynamat (Pics Below),It wasnt totally pro looking due to having to cut small pieces to fit correctly.Well I also got my Black balogna and rattle pad from second skin audio. So I took some 3m adhesive and put on one big peice of the black balogna and tok a strip of rattle pad and put it where the deck meets the windshield. So all is well and I try to reassemble! BIG problem Anything thicker than a lyer of dynamat and the deck pins cant be fully inserted! So after a huge hassle of trying to fit it and cutting my finger all up I have to tear out the black balogna stuff and rattle pad =(, and end up breaking 3 of the deck pins in the process =(.Well I left the dynamat extreme on and managed to get the deck back on and car reasembled.Took it for a test drive and blasted the system at full volume with sub pounding and NO vibrations =) all I hear is a lil air escaping from some cracks. So after all that I acomplished my mission. Next week I'll save my self the trouble and put some Cascade audio spray n dampened to the underside of the id in the trunk and seal everything up nice and tight! BTW my bass is noticably louder too =) PICS BELOW

No those are 6 1/2" holes I have a sedan.Put I did have them open before it was dynamated and the bass was louder than with speaker in there. But now that everything is dynamated it's even louder! besides I'm never taking my damn rear deck off again, such a pain int the *** trying to line the holes back up!

maybe. But I just had another rattle =0 now its where the deck meets the window AAARGGG can't I have a decent sounding car. Well I guess what i'm gonna do you it take that spray on stuff and completelty seal the botom of where the trunk meets the deck!! that way no air will be able to get below the rear deck! seems like my only option.

you're lucky, i put in 100 sq feet of fatmat in my trunk and on my rear deck (top and bottom of it) (2 layers thick) and used expanding foam as well. I still have some rattles. I know my tails are rattling, but there are otherplaces on the rear deck and elsewhere that are rattling. its annoying...
