well, soon i am gonna be starting my ICE install and i am curious to know where is the best place to store a ps2 console. I know the glovebox is too small, but i was thinking about making some mounting brackets and a trim panel to mount the console under the glove box.
But i also would like to place it where i can take it out of the car if i want.....so, i am thinking maybe the trunk and using the 6ft extension cords for the controllers.
Please give your imput and ideas...also, if you have pics of your install, please share.
BTW, i did search and didn't find any trunk installs

thanx for searching for me, but i already read those thread.
In the first link, the dude wants to permantly mount his ps2 and relocate the controls to the dash
and the 2nd link, nobody really talked about the install too much except in the glovebox.
I am interested in a trunk install. What do i need to do to be able to turn on the ps2 from the drivers seat and yet be able to take out the console when i want to ?

depending on whether you want a switch on the dash or a remote....
if you want a remote then then just get a wireless DVD remote for the
PS2. An infrared sensor plugs in to the memory card port. With those
6 foot paddle extensions you guys were talking about it goes along the
principle. Just run the extension under the carpet and mount some
where on the dash. It would look like a really tiny radar detector. If
PS2 is left in standby mode the DVD remote can also turn it on. This
setup worked great on a buddies car. I'll try and get some pics so
you can see

I put mines directly in front of the front passengers seat as seen in the pic below... I also created a carpeted bracket and attached it to the bottom portion of the floor mat. This way it stays snug and doesn't slide when driving, yet easy to take out. The only drawback to this is that passengers had better not spill anything on it and they lose some leg room (which isn't too bad since there's plenty room in front of it, shoot just stretch your legs.). In this location it is also very easy to aim wireless DVD remote to control PS2.
