I bought a fatmat kit and installed it last summer when it was warm. The surface was completely clean and free of grease. I even used a roller to mash it onto the metal. Well six months later it still smells bad and I had to use cement glue to hold it in place. Original adhesive failed and it peeled right off.

The places I did with dynamat are still rock solid and not a trace of odor. Best stuff to use, imo.

i tightened my truck lock,adjusted my rubber stoppers..put fatmat in the trunk....i the only rattling i have is my spoiler...but my bass is so loud and clear..u can barely hear it....

bah heating panels and sound deadener.....sounds like *** to me,all i had to do was peel the backing off my dynamat extreme and form it to my panels,real easy and real quick and trunk no longer rattles.
