like the title says, noone ever gets to complain about too many wires =P
76 inches each times 26 strands = 165 feet of wire..
for what you ask?
to move teh hvac controls to the door panel, and thats just the 3 *****, not the 3 buttons, the 3 buttons would probably make me break 200 feet in wire...
sad sad stuff
wish me luck, im prolly gona be soldering for a LONG time tonight

you should use 25 pair phone cable..its 24 guage and all color coded. about 3/4 or an inch in diameter..they also have 75, 100, 150 and so on pairs...you could also use some cat3 or 5 cable...4 pairs in each and very cheap per foot.

diy?
1 - no one wants to go through this much work for moving a/c controls
2 - takes lots and lots of molding fiberglass and bondo to get the ***** to fit right, you basically have to redo your doorpanel
and
3 - its the type of project that if you can do it, you already know how

i can, i connected a whole computer lab with cat 5 cable and had to make my own wires, so i have to connect 10B T connectors to each side of the cables, and each side had about 6 to 8 wires on each end. that took a week. i think i did about 40 computers... i was only 13 at the time...
ya..i have cabled buildings with 80 voice locations, 60 data then had to terminate the data on patch panels. (480 wires), terminate all the jacks (another 480 wires) then terminate the voice (640 wires) then put jacks on the voice (only laid down 4 wires so (320) plus five 25 pairs from the phone system (250 wires). sooo..add that up...lol 2170 wires pluss the 100's of feet of cable runs.... and thats just a medium sized system
I was once mounting a gage on a mustang, drilled too far into the wrong part of the dash, and the bit came out covered in rainbow shavings,... i went right into the harness,.... I had to pull the entire dash, and reconnect some 30 wires (60 solder pts), all upsidedown on my back. YIKES

doors are put on hold because of the weather though. fiberglass doesnt like suring in colder weather. it takes much longer to kick and all...
but i live in miami, which means cold weather lasts 5 or 6 days, then goes away for 3 weeks... itll be 85 and sunny by next week -)
